Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

The short version

  • No accounts. Wreck the World! has no sign-in, and the game never asks for your name, email address or any other contact details.
  • Your progress stays with you. Saves and settings are stored on your own device (or in your browser). We don't run any servers that collect them.
  • PC and web: no ads. These versions show no adverts and contain no advertising code.
  • YouTube Playables: when you play inside YouTube, your save and your score (total blocks destroyed) go to YouTube, and Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Mobile apps (Android, iPhone and iPad): ads. The mobile versions show ads through Unity LevelPlay (currently with the ironSource Ads, Unity Ads and Google AdMob networks). Ad companies may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and device information. In the UK and EEA you'll be asked for consent before ads are personalised.
  • iPhone and iPad: you decide about tracking. Apple's "Allow tracking?" question is asked once, before any ads. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your device's advertising identifier is not shared with anyone.
  • This website sets no cookies of its own, has no analytics and stores nothing in your browser. It loads fonts from Google Fonts and is hosted by Cloudflare.
  • You're in control. Delete your data any time with Options > Reset Progress, by clearing your browser data, or by uninstalling the game.

1 Who we are

Wreck the World! is developed and published by Booster Box Games, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). For the purposes of UK data protection law, Booster Box Games is responsible for the personal data described in this policy that we decide how to use.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@boosterbox.uk.

2 What this policy covers

This policy covers:

  • the game Wreck the World! on every platform it is released on (PC, web browsers including YouTube Playables, Android, and iPhone and iPad);
  • this website.

What happens to your data depends on where you play, so each version has its own section below. Where a third party (such as YouTube, Google, Unity or Cloudflare) collects data for its own purposes, their privacy policy applies to that, and we link to it.

3 The game on PC

The PC version works entirely on your computer. It does not show ads, does not need an account and contains no analytics or advertising code.

  • Your save (cash, upgrades, weapons, jobs completed, achievements and play statistics such as play time and blocks destroyed) is stored as a file in the game's local application data folder on your computer.
  • Your settings (volume levels, screen shake, comic effects, random events, cash pop-ups, fullscreen and V-sync) are stored locally using Unity's standard settings storage (PlayerPrefs).

None of this is sent to us. If you buy or play the game through a store such as Steam, that store's own privacy policy covers your account and purchase with them.

4 The game in a web browser

When you play the web version on a normal website or games site (outside YouTube), it shows no ads and contains no analytics or advertising code.

  • Your save is kept in your browser's local storage, under the key wreck-the-world-save. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
  • Your settings are kept in your browser's storage by the Unity engine.

The website hosting the game may collect its own data (for example server logs, cookies or ads around the game), under its own privacy policy.

The game page also loads the YouTube Playables script from youtube.com so the same build can run inside YouTube. Loading it means your browser contacts YouTube's servers, which see your IP address and browser details, as with any web request. Outside YouTube the game does not use this script for anything.

5 YouTube Playables

When you play Wreck the World! inside YouTube Playables, the game uses the YouTube Playables SDK provided by Google:

  • Cloud save: your save (the same game progress described above) is stored by YouTube, so you can carry on where you left off. We cannot access it.
  • Score: the game sends YouTube one number, your all-time total of blocks destroyed, which YouTube can show as your best score.
  • Platform signals: the game listens for YouTube's pause, resume and sound on/off signals so it behaves properly. These are not stored.

YouTube may show its own ads around Playables. We don't control those. Your use of YouTube, including any data YouTube and Google collect, is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube's terms.

6 The mobile apps and advertising

The Android, iPhone and iPad versions are free and show ads to pay for development. There are two kinds:

  • Rewarded ads (optional): after a job you can choose to watch an ad to boost your pay for that job, by up to double. You never have to.
  • Interstitial ads: an occasional full-screen ad between jobs, never during play. New players don't see them, and they're limited to one every few jobs and minutes.

Ads are delivered by Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service run by Unity Technologies (which includes ironSource). LevelPlay chooses each ad from one of its partner ad networks. At present these are ironSource Ads and Unity Ads (both run by Unity) and Google AdMob. This policy will list any other network before it is added.

Before any ad is requested, the app first shows Google's consent message where the law requires one (the UK, the EEA and Switzerland), and then, on iPhone and iPad, Apple's tracking question (see below). No ad code starts until both are settled.

What the ad companies may collect

To show ads, the ad SDKs inside the app may collect and process:

  • your device's advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID, or on iPhone and iPad Apple's IDFA, only if you allow tracking) and other device or app identifiers (such as the app-specific identifier iOS gives every app, used for things like frequency capping and fraud prevention);
  • your IP address, and an approximate location worked out from it (country or city level, not GPS);
  • device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language, screen size, network type and app version;
  • ad interaction data, such as which ads were requested, shown, watched, clicked or skipped.

They use this to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and, only where you have consented, show personalised ads based on your interests. The ad companies process this data under their own privacy policies:

  • Unity (including LevelPlay, ironSource Ads and Unity Ads): Game Player and App User Privacy Policy
  • Google (AdMob and the consent message): Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services

We (Booster Box Games) don't receive your advertising ID or any other data that identifies you. We only see combined reports from the ad companies, such as how many ads were shown and how much they earned.

Apart from the ads, the mobile apps work the same way as the PC version: your save is a file in the app's private storage on your device, and your settings are stored on the device. Neither is sent to us. (On iPhone and iPad, your device's own iCloud or computer backups may include the app's storage, under Apple's privacy policy.)

Game Center and Google Play Games

The mobile apps can record your achievements with Game Center (on iPhone and iPad) or Google Play Games (on Android), so you can see them alongside your other games. When the app starts, it signs you in to the service quietly if you already use it. You can also open it from the Achievements page. When you unlock one of the published achievements, the game tells Apple or Google which achievement it was. That, and your player profile on their service, is all that's involved.

  • Apple and Google run these services and handle your profile (such as your nickname, avatar, friends and achievement history) under their own privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
  • We don't receive your name, email address, Apple Account or Google Account details, and the game doesn't use your profile for ads.
  • Using them is optional. If you're not signed in, or you sign out, your achievements are still kept in the game itself. You can manage or switch these services off in Settings > Game Center on iPhone and iPad, or in the Google Play Games settings on Android, where you can also delete your Play Games profile.

iPhone and iPad: App Tracking Transparency

Apple requires apps to ask your permission before they "track" you, meaning before your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA) can be used to link what you do in this app with data from other companies' apps and websites, for example for personalised ads. The first time ads are about to start, iOS shows its standard question, with our explanation: "This lets us show you more relevant ads, which keeps Wreck the World free to play." We only ever ask once.

  • Allow: the ad networks may use your IDFA to personalise ads and measure them, subject to any consent you gave in the consent message.
  • Ask App Not to Track: the IDFA is not available to the app or the ad networks, and no tracking takes place. You'll still see ads, but they won't be personalised using your IDFA. Ad networks may still use Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork system to count ad results without identifying you.
  • Change your mind any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or Settings > Wreck the World! > Allow Tracking. If "Allow Apps to Request to Track" is switched off on your device, the question isn't shown and the app is treated as not allowed.

The App Store itself (downloads, payments for other apps and your Apple Account) is run by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. We receive no personal information from Apple about you.

7 Your advertising choices

  • Consent (UK, EEA and Switzerland): the mobile apps ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent message. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalised (they may still use limited data for things like frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention, as the law allows). You can change your choice at any time in Options > Privacy Choices.
  • iPhone and iPad tracking: answer Apple's tracking question with Ask App Not to Track, or change it later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking (see above).
  • Your Android Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it at any time in your device settings (usually Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads, depending on your device). Deleting it stops apps using it for personalised ads.
  • Rewarded ads are optional. Just don't press the "watch an ad" button.
  • Prefer no ads at all? The PC and web versions don't show any.

8 The Unity game engine

The game is built with the Unity engine. We have not enabled Unity's optional Analytics, Cloud Diagnostics or performance reporting services, and the game itself sends no analytics to us. However, Unity builds may send Unity Technologies limited technical information about the device and engine (such as device model, operating system, graphics hardware and crash details) to help Unity maintain and improve the engine. Unity handles this under its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

9 This website

  • No cookies, analytics or tracking from us. The site doesn't set cookies, doesn't use analytics or advertising scripts, and doesn't store anything in your browser. The playable toys on the home page run entirely in your browser and save nothing.
  • Fonts from Google Fonts. The site loads its fonts (Bangers and Nunito) from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore contacts Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting by Cloudflare. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details (such as the page requested, time, browser type and referring page) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abuse. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check for malicious traffic. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Links to other sites (such as stores or social media) are covered by those sites' own policies.

10 Legal bases for using data

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests for storing your save and settings on your device so the game works and remembers your progress, for delivering and securing this website, and for non-personalised ads in the mobile apps (including frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention) that fund the free game. We think these uses are expected and have minimal impact on your privacy.
  • Consent for personalised advertising in the mobile apps, for tracking on iPhone and iPad (Apple's permission), and for any use of your device's storage or identifiers by ad companies where the law requires consent. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your advertising choices).
  • Legitimate interests (or, where relevant, a legal obligation) for replying to messages you send us and keeping a record of them.

11 Third parties

We don't sell your personal information. The only third parties involved are:

Unity Technologies (LevelPlay, ironSource Ads, Unity Ads, Unity engine) Mobile app ads; engine diagnostics on all versions. Privacy policy
Google (AdMob, consent message) Mobile app ads (AdMob) and the consent message. How Google uses data
Apple (App Store, iOS) Distributes the iPhone and iPad app, shows the tracking permission question, and runs Game Center achievements. Privacy policy
Google / YouTube (YouTube Playables, Google Play Games) Cloud save and score when you play inside YouTube; achievements in the Android app (Play Games). Privacy policy
Google Fonts Fonts on this website. Privacy policy
Cloudflare Hosting and security for this website. Privacy policy

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

12 International transfers

The third parties above operate worldwide, so data they process (for example ad data in the mobile apps, or request data on this website) may be handled outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. These companies are responsible for protecting such transfers with recognised safeguards, such as adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

13 How long data is kept

  • Saves and settings stay on your device (or in your browser) until you reset your progress, clear your browser data or uninstall the game. We never hold a copy.
  • YouTube cloud saves are kept by YouTube under Google's policies.
  • Ad data is kept by the ad companies for the periods set out in their own policies.
  • Website request logs are kept by Cloudflare for a limited time under its policy.
  • Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your message, and then deleted.

14 Security

Because we don't collect or store your game data on our own servers, there's very little for us to protect. This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Your save is only as private as the device or browser it's stored on, so keep your device secure. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we and our providers take reasonable steps to protect information.

15 Children

Wreck the World! is a cartoon demolition game suitable for a general audience. It is not directed primarily at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game itself never asks players for personal details.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us (for example by emailing us), contact us at support@boosterbox.uk and we will delete it.

If we later choose to take part in programmes for children's games (such as Google Play's Families policy or the App Store's Kids category), we will update this section and how ads work in the app before that happens.

16 Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA, data protection law gives you the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • restrict or object to how we use your data, including any use based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this doesn't affect anything done before you withdrew it);
  • data portability, where it applies.

To use any of these rights, email support@boosterbox.uk. We'll reply within one month. Please note that we generally hold no data that can identify you. Your save is on your own device, and ad data is held by the ad companies. For ad data, the quickest route is usually to reset or delete your Advertising ID (or, on iPhone and iPad, turn tracking off), or to contact the ad company directly using the links above. We're happy to help point you in the right direction.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk. In the EEA, you can contact your local authority. We'd appreciate the chance to sort out any concern first, so please get in touch with us.

Outside the UK and EEA: you may have similar rights under your local law (for example in some US states, the right to opt out of your data being used for targeted advertising). In the mobile apps you can do this by declining personalised ads where offered, by deleting your Advertising ID in your Android settings, or by choosing Ask App Not to Track on iPhone and iPad. Contact us if you need help.

17 How to delete your data

  • In the game, on any version: go to Options > Reset Progress. This permanently wipes your cash, upgrades, weapons, jobs, prestige and statistics, and starts a fresh save. There's no undo. Inside YouTube Playables, this also clears your YouTube cloud save.
  • PC: uninstall the game and delete its folder in your local application data.
  • Android: uninstall the app, or use Settings > Apps > Wreck the World! > Storage > Clear storage.
  • iPhone and iPad: delete the app (press and hold its icon, then Remove App > Delete App). "Offload App" keeps your save, while "Delete App" removes it. Copies in older iCloud or computer backups are managed in your device's backup settings.
  • Web browser: clear the site data (local storage) for the website you played on, in your browser's settings.
  • Advertising data: delete or reset your Android Advertising ID, or turn tracking off on iPhone and iPad, and see the ad companies' policies above.

18 Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when the game changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example when a new ad network or platform is added. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. If a change is significant, we'll also tell players in the game or on this website where we reasonably can.
